Install in Windsurf

Windsurf is a VS Code-based IDE that supports the VS Code Marketplace.

Prerequisites​

  • Windsurf (latest version recommended)

Method 1: Search in Windsurf​

  1. Open Windsurf
  2. Open the Extensions view:
    • Click the Extensions icon in the Activity Bar, or
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+X (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Shift+X (macOS)
  3. Search for "SF Veritas"
  4. Click Install on the "SF Veritas" extension by Sailfish AI
  5. The extension will activate automatically

Marketplace Configuration​

If the extension doesn't appear in search, you may need to configure the marketplace URL:

  1. Open Windsurf Settings (Ctrl+, / Cmd+,)
  2. Search for windsurf.marketplaceGalleryItemURL
  3. Ensure it's configured correctly for your Windsurf version

Alternative: Install from VSIX​

If marketplace installation doesn't work:

  1. Download the VSIX file from Open VSX
  2. In Windsurf, open the Extensions view (Ctrl+Shift+X / Cmd+Shift+X)
  3. Click the ... (More Actions) button
  4. Select "Install from VSIX..."
  5. Navigate to and select the downloaded VSIX file
  6. Click Install and reload when prompted

Verify Installation​

  1. Look for the SF Veritas icon in the Activity Bar
  2. Open the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P / Cmd+Shift+P)
  3. Type "SF Veritas" and verify the commands appear

Configuration​

After installation, configure the extension through Windsurf settings:

  1. Open Settings (Ctrl+, / Cmd+,)
  2. Search for "SF Veritas"
  3. Adjust settings as needed

Troubleshooting​

Extension not found in marketplace​

  1. Check that the marketplace is properly configured
  2. Try installing from VSIX as an alternative
  3. Ensure you have the latest version of Windsurf

Extension not working properly​

  1. Verify that the local server port (default 6776) is not blocked
  2. Check the Output panel for error messages
  3. Try restarting Windsurf after installation
